Events Stories

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

The annual midnight breakfast, held each year in the lower level of Newark United Methodist Church, has grown from originally serving just 15 students to serving nearly 300 students each semester.

Wesley Foundation Campus Ministry students and friends started the event more than 15 years ago, and now the entire University Religious Leaders organization pitches in to meet the demand for late-night sustenance.

Religious leaders begin preparing the food around 9 p.m. and usually don't leave the church until about 3 a.m. Students interested in attending need only show up at the church from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
