Newark Police investigate stabbing of UD student during fight
10:28 a.m., May 12, 2013--Newark Police are investigating the stabbing of a University of Delaware student that occurred at approximately 1:20 a.m., Sunday, May 12, in the city parking lot at 54 East Delaware Ave.
Responding officers learned that an argument between the victim and a suspect in the parking lot led to a fight. During the fight, the victim sustained multiple stab wounds to the chest and abdomen. The victim, a 22-year-old UD student, was taken to Christiana Hospital by private vehicle. He underwent surgery and is currently listed in stable condition.
The suspect is described as a white male, 18 to 22 years old, 5 feet 11 inches to 6 feet tall, weighing 185 to 190 pounds and wearing a white T-shirt and a black hat.
Detectives are actively investigating the case.
