2013 IT Transformation Grants
Deadline for pre-proposals for IT Transformation Grants is April 1
1:23 p.m., March 14, 2013--The University of Delaware Information Technologies IT Transformation Grant program offers grants to faculty to transform education with the support of new and innovative uses of technology. The funding opportunities have been expanded to include faculty time, graduate or undergraduate student time, conference attendance and travel, software and equipment.
The process begins with a short explanation of the faculty member's idea in a pre-proposal. The deadline for pre-proposals is April 1.

A successful pre-proposal should convey the strength of the idea to the review committee as briefly as possible. The review committee suggests a number of tips for strengthening pre-proposals.
Think big
Applicants are encouraged to think big, asking questions such as: Can this pre-proposal be used to transform teaching and learning at the University of Delaware? Can I expand on my idea to include teaching methods or technology that has potential value across campus? Would the support of a grant (graduate students, faculty time, staff, and resources) enable the project to reach beyond an individual course?
Broaden horizons
Cross discipline efforts can enrich a proposal, drawing from different resources to create a diverse, multi-use proposal. Do I know like-minded colleagues who would be interested in expanding the scope and reach of my proposal? Would it be possible for my proposal to fit similar needs in other fields of study?
This year, the program combines resources from IT and the Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning. Full details about the program are available at the Transformation Grant website.
