National Weather Service issues tornado watch until 10 p.m.

2:52 p.m., June 27, 2013--The National Weather Service office at Mt. Holly, N.J., has issued a tornado watch until 10 p.m. for all of Delaware.

The watch also has been issued for all of New Jersey, the eastern portion of Maryland and the southeastern portion of Pennsylvania.

NWS said this means that conditions are favorable for the formation of tornadoes in the area.

In addition, strong to severe thunderstorms are possible with heavy downpours, wind gusts to 70 miles per hour and hail to 1.5 inches in diameter.

NWS advises residents to continue to monitor the weather and take any necessary precautions.
