City to work on water mains in west Newark beginning July 9

10:41 a.m., July 5, 2012--The city of Newark's Water and Wastewater Department has announced that water main projects will begin in west Newark on Monday, July 9. Water mains will be relined on Winslow, Townsend, India, Orchard and Sunset roads, and the water main will be replaced on Kent Way.  

No disruption of traffic is anticipated, and water service will be maintained at all times while the water mains are being relined. There will be some water service outages of limited duration during the Kent Way replacement project.

The city is distributing information to the homes affected by the projects, and a community meeting to discuss the projects and answer questions will be held at 7 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, in the Alderman's Court at the Newark Municipal Building, 220 Elkton Rd.
