UD Alumni Association adds six new members to board of directors
1:52 p.m., July 26, 2012--The University of Delaware Alumni Association has added six new members to its board of directors effective July 1. They are Ken Boyle, a 1978 graduate; Megan DiMuzio Del Collo, a 1999 graduate; Julie Zimmerman Derrickson, a 2001 graduate; Paul Fioravanti, a 1993 graduate; Maureen Cawley Ortega, a 1998 graduate; and Robert Waters, a 1982 graduate.
Darelle Lake Riabov, a 1973 graduate and president of the UD Alumni Association, expressed her excitement about the new board members slated to serve over the next four years. “Each new member brings a special set of skills that will help us move our organization forward,” said Riabov. “We have an ambitious agenda and plan to get them engaged in our efforts right away.”
As the UDAA welcomed its newest board members, representatives also expressed thanks to the association's outgoing members, who each completed a full four-year term of service.
The UDAA awarded the following outgoing members with a "degree in board service": John Gaul, a 1978 graduate; Susan Gell Hugel, a 1973 graduate and 1974 master's graduate; Thom Shumosic, a 2006 graduate; Joanne Colletta Reihm, a 1976 graduate; Ruth Johnson Reynolds, a 1964 graduate and 1997 master's graduate; and Stephan Zacharkiw, a 1999 graduate.
“I would like to especially thank this year’s outgoing board members,” said Riabov. “Not only did they serve their original board terms with great enthusiasm, all of them agreed to stay an extra year. As we said goodbye to them, each one asked me to find a way to keep them involved with UDAA in the future.”
