Newark Police arrest man for indecent exposure
3:34 p.m., Jan. 22, 2013--Newark Police have arrested a 42-year-old Maryland man for indecent exposure after an incident early Sunday, Jan. 20, on New London Road in Newark.
Around 2:47 a.m., Jan. 20, two women reported that they were walking in the 200 block of New London Road, near Corbit Street, when a white vehicle pulled to the side of the roadway just ahead of them. As they walked by the vehicle, they saw a man with his pants pulled down, masturbating. They were able to obtain the license plate number of the vehicle and immediately called 911.

As officers were responding, the suspect's vehicle was located driving on East Cleveland Avenue. After a traffic stop, the officer saw the suspect with his pants down and a towel covering his genitals, and he was taken into custody.
Michael J. Shull of Conowingo, Md., was charged with two counts of second degree indecent exposure, two counts of lewdness, inattentive driving, no driver seatbelt and an open container of alcohol in the vehicle. He was issued $1,500 secured bond on the criminal charges and was released from police custody after bond was posted.
