UD fraternity, sorority community announces recruitment schedule
9:36 a.m., Jan. 14, 2013--Starting in February, full-time undergraduate students will have the opportunity to join various chapters in the fraternity and sorority community at University of Delaware.
Registration is now open for Panhellenic sorority recruitment. Women interested in joining one of the 10 Panhellenic sororities can gain more information by visiting this website.

Note that women interested in participating in formal recruitment must be fulltime undergraduates enrolled at UD for the spring 2013 semester. They must also have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average and pay the $60 registration fee online when they register at this website.
All women must be registered by Monday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. This is a hard deadline and extensions will not be granted.
There will be a mandatory orientation session in the afternoon on Tuesday, Feb. 5, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center for all women participating in formal recruitment.
The formal recruitment program will run from Feb. 8-10 and Feb. 15-17. Panhellenic Bid Day will be Monday, Feb. 18. Those with questions can call 302-831-0456 or email udpanhellenicrecruitment@gmail.com.
Men and women interested in multicultural Greek organizations can attend “Meet the Greeks” on Saturday, Feb. 9, at 5 p.m., in the Multipurpose Room of the Trabant University Center. The event will have food, games, and information on up to 12 multicultural Greek letter organizations on campus. For more information on the UD Multicultural Greek Congress, visit the Facebook page.
Any and all students are welcome to come and meet the chapters. This event is meant to not only engage potential new members, but also the entire campus community.
The Interfraternity Council at UD will have its Recruitment Kick Off event on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 6:30 p.m., in the Multipurpose Rooms. This is an opportunity for men to meet and interact with all 17 organizations, before chapter events begin on Monday, Feb. 18.

UD’s six special interest organizations will also be accepting new members this year. These groups have specific academic ties to academic honors (Phis Sigma Pi co-ed fraternity), agriculture (Alpha Zeta co-ed fraternity and Sigma Alpha sorority for women), business (Alpha Kappa Psi co-ed fraternity), engineering (Alpha Omega Epsilon sorority for women) and music (Sigma Alpha Iota sorority for women).

All full-time undergraduate students with at least a 2.5 GPA are encouraged to explore their options for members in the fraternity and sorority community. This past fall the community once again had a higher GPA than the undergraduate average at the University. Chapters donated over $100,000 dollars and volunteered over 24,000 hours to various charities and causes this past semester.
Joining a national fraternity or sorority can help build a network on campus and beyond. Many members are active in RSOs, Student Government, academic clubs, New Student Orientation, Blue Hen Ambassadors, athletics, the Student Alumni Association, and other activities across campus.
