1:24 p.m., Jan. 15, 2013--The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies has announced that 185 students earned professional development certificates through programs offered in 2012.
Of these certificate graduates, 21 percent were UD alumni who took advantage of the registration discount available to UD graduates. Another 9 percent received scholarships from the Division of Professional and Continuing Studies to help underwrite the cost of their continuing professional education, including the division’s new Economic Competitiveness for Delawareans scholarship.
Young people in the community can enrich their summers through a wide variety of experiences at camps scheduled this year at the University of Delaware.
The career connection
The Career Services Center is set to launch the 2016 Internship and Job Drive, which seeks to inspire the University of Delaware's network of alumni, parents and friends to become more actively engaged in helping UD students get full-time positions at their workplaces.
In addition, 12 percent were UD employees taking advantage of the University’s fee waiver benefit to enroll in certificate programs offered through Professional and Continuing Studies.
Spring 2013 professional development certificates begin in February. Those interested are invited to attend an information session on Thursday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m., at the Doubletree Hotel in Wilmington.
