UD Public Safety offers Rape Aggression Defense classes

8:01 a.m., Feb. 5, 2013--University of Delaware Public Safety is offering Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) self-defense classes for University-affiliated women, with basic classes set to begin in February and an advanced class scheduled to begin in April.

Basic RAD provides 15 hours of instruction, and those who register must attend all classes. Basic RAD classes will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at a central campus location.

One Basic RAD class will be held Mondays and Wednesdays, Feb. 18, 20, 25 and 27 and March 4.

A second Basic RAD class will be held Tuesdays, Feb. 19 and 26 and March 5, 12 and 19.

Advanced RAD also provides 15 hours of instruction. A prerequisite is that participants have taken the Basic RAD course. Advanced RAD will meet from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at a central campus location.

The Advanced RAD class will meet Mondays, April 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29.

The fee for all RAD courses is $25. To register, send email to Sgt. David Bartolf at the Department of Public Safety at davidb@udel.edu. No phone calls.

Registration is required. Include in the email class choice and University affiliation (faculty, staff, or student).
