Dates, speakers announced for spring School of Nursing lecture series


11:17 a.m., Feb. 22, 2013--The School of Nursing at the University of Delaware has announced dates and speakers for its spring lecture series. All lectures will take place on Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m. in 114 McDowell Hall.

The lecture series consists of three events:

Oct. 14: Planet hunters

UD astronomer Judi Provencal says Kepler scientist Fergal Mullally's mission report will have something for novices and experts alike.

Oct. 14: Minerals topic

Sharon Fitzgerald of University Museums at the University of Delaware will present a curator's talk on the Mineralogical Museum exhibition featuring specimens from the Irenee du Pont collection from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14.
  • March 6 —“A Meta-Analysis of the Association Between Two Cardiac Risk Factors,” Ju Young Shin, assistant professor, School of Nursing.
  • April 3 — “The Role of Habitual Intake of Sodium and Potassium on Vascular Function,” Shannon Lennon-Edwards, assistant professor, Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition.
  • April 24 — “Reproductive Health at School-Based Health Centers: Stakeholder Perceptions,” Judith Herrman, associate professor, School of Nursing.

All lectures are free and open to the public.
