Dates, speakers announced for spring School of Nursing lecture series

11:17 a.m., Feb. 22, 2013--The School of Nursing at the University of Delaware has announced dates and speakers for its spring lecture series. All lectures will take place on Wednesdays from 9-10 a.m. in 114 McDowell Hall.

The lecture series consists of three events:

Sept. 22: 'Actors on Acting'

Richard Davison, University of Delaware professor emeritus of English, will discuss "Actors on Acting" during a presentation at 10:30 a.m., Monday, Sept. 22, at the Newark Senior Center.

Sept. 22: 'Disabled Upon Arrival'

Jay Dolmage, associate professor at the University of Waterloo in Ontario, Canada, will present a talk titled "Disabled Upon Arrival: Technologies of Disablement and Racialization at the Border" at 3:30 p.m., Monday, Sept. 22, in 127 Memorial Hall.
  • March 6 —“A Meta-Analysis of the Association Between Two Cardiac Risk Factors,” Ju Young Shin, assistant professor, School of Nursing.
  • April 3 — “The Role of Habitual Intake of Sodium and Potassium on Vascular Function,” Shannon Lennon-Edwards, assistant professor, Department of Behavioral Health and Nutrition.
  • April 24 — “Reproductive Health at School-Based Health Centers: Stakeholder Perceptions,” Judith Herrman, associate professor, School of Nursing.

All lectures are free and open to the public.
