The LibQUAL+ survey is available at this website.

This widely used and well-established national library survey instrument developed by the Association of Research Libraries assesses perception of  quality of library services, facilities and collections to assist the UD Library in planning for the future.

The LibQUAL+ survey implementation is being administered by Sandra Millard, associate university librarian for Services, Outreach and Assessment.

The LibQUAL+ survey asks for three responses to each question, and participants are asked to rank on a scale of 1 to 9:

  • Minimum level of service that is acceptable.
  • Desired level of service the user personally wants.
  • Perceived level of service the user believes the University of Delaware Library currently provides.

All participants will also have an opportunity to provide anonymous comments or suggestions in a box at the end of the survey.

The Association of Research Libraries will compile the anonymous responses for the University of Delaware Library.

The LibQUAL+ survey instrument was submitted to the University of Delaware Institutional Review Board, which classified the survey as “exempt” from review.

University student participants are eligible to win an iPad mini. Any UD students who wish to participate in the drawing for the iPad mini should include their University of Delaware email address when completing the survey. [Email addresses will not be linked to responses.]

The prize winner will be notified using the email address entered in the survey.

For questions about the LibQUAL+ survey, please contact Sandra Millard at lib-qual@udel.edu.
