March workshops
University Library offers workshops on 'Digitizing Old Formats'
11:29 a.m., Feb. 15, 2013--The University of Delaware Library will present two workshops on digitizing old formats in March -- “Digitizing Old Formats: Audio” and “Digitizing Old Formats: Photos and Video.”
Each workshop will teach participants how to transfer treasured memories on old formats onto digital formats for use on a computer and will provide an overview of equipment available at the Student Multimedia Design Center.

“Digitizing Old Formats: Audio” will cover transferring formats such as vinyl records and audio cassettes.
It will meet from 2:30-4 p.m., Wednesday, March 20, in the Student Multimedia Design Center, Room B, on the lower level of the Morris Library. Presenter will be John Stevenson, associate librarian, Student Multimedia Design Center.
“Digitizing Old Formats: Photos and Video” will cover the steps necessary to convert participants’ media, including VHS and Hi-8 tapes to DVD, and 35mm photographic film, prints and slides to digital files.
It will meet from 2:30-4 p.m., Friday, March 15, also in the Student Multimedia Design Center, Room B. Stevenson will be the presenter.
The workshops are available at no charge and are open to UD faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. Registration is available online.
