Search firm to assist in identifying next director of athletics
2:07 p.m., Aug. 31, 2012--Parker Executive Search of Atlanta has been retained by the University of Delaware to assist in the national search for the University's next director of athletics and recreation services.

The University's search committee for the position is chaired by Monica Taylor, vice president for development and alumni relations, and its members are Michael Gilbert, vice president for student life; Ian Hennessy, head coach of men's soccer; Tina Martin, head coach of women's basketball; Matt Robinson, professor of sport management; Lynn Snyder-Mackler, Alumni Distinguished Professor of Physical Therapy and UD's Faculty Athletics Representative; and John Wallace, a UD alumnus, a letter winner in both baseball and football and current trustee.
Bernard Muir, who was only the fourth person to hold the position since 1940, left UD earlier this month to become the Jaquish and Kenninger Director of Athletics at Stanford University. Samantha K. Huge, deputy director of athletics and recreation services, is serving as interim director.
The director of athletics and recreation services reports directly to the president.
