Fashion professor to develop global marketing course for Korean university
11:59 a.m., Aug. 22, 2012--The University of Delaware’s Jaehee Jung has been appointed an eminent international scholar at South Korea’s Kyung Hee University, where she will spend the fall semester teaching a fashion business course and developing an online global marketing course to be taught in the spring.
Jung, an associate professor who holds joint appointments in UD’s departments of Fashion and Apparel Studies and Women’s Studies, will also collaborate with faculty members at the overseas university on projects related to consumer behavior.

"As cross-cultural research and collaborations have been extremely important for my scholarship, this professorship will give me additional opportunities at the international level,” she says. “In addition, teaching Korean students will give me an opportunity to learn about cultural differences in teaching and learning styles."
Although Jung is a bilingual scholar, she has been asked to teach the course in English, as Kyung Hee, like many other higher education institutions in South Korea, aims to globalize its academic curriculum.
Kyung Hee University is a private university located in the central part of Seoul. It is ranked sixth best among all comprehensive universities in the country in 2011.
This will be Jung’s second trip to South Korea this year. In April, she was invited to speak to the Korean Society of Clothing and Textiles as a Distinguished Scholar during the organization’s Special Spring Conference.
