The tournament, now in its third year, has been moved to Deerfield Golf Club near Newark, Del., to better accommodate interest from the University community. Proceeds support the educational and charitable mission of the nonprofit foundation, including a scholarship that, when funded, will benefit a female UD undergraduate in the Department of Communication.
The tournament opens for registration and warm-ups at 11:30 a.m., with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. A "beef and root beer" event begins at 5 p.m.
After graduating from UD, Ms. Perry worked as a recruiting specialist in human resources for the Christiana Care Health System. Her stepfather, Edric Mason, is a 1968 graduate of the University, where he was a member of the football team.
