Police seek suspect in Newark Shopping Center bank robbery
3:45 p.m., Aug. 1, 2012--Newark Police are seeking a suspect in a robbery that occurred at 9:20 a.m., Wednesday, Aug. 1, at the PNC Bank in the Newark Shopping Center on East Main Street.
Police said a lone male suspect presented a teller a note demanding money. The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of money and the suspect fled the bank on foot, running around the rear of the bank and then toward the back of the shopping center.

The suspect is described as a black male about 20-30 years old, roughly 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall and about 180 pounds. He had a scruffy beard or rough complexion and was wearing glasses.
Police said the suspect was wearing a tan straw fedora hat with a black band and a feather, a white polo shirt, an oversized brown tweed or plaid sports coat, khaki pants and black boots.
