New Castle man arrested in Aug. 1 bank robbery

10:58 a.m., Aug. 10, 2012--Newark Police have arrested Dexter Bland, 24, of New Castle for the Aug. 1 robbery of the PNC Bank in the Newark Shopping Center. 

According to police, numerous tips from the public were received after investigators released surveillance photos from the incident.

Bland was taken into custody on Aug. 9 when he came to Newark Alderman's Court #40 to inquire about unpaid traffic tickets.  He was charged with second degree robbery and committed to Howard R. Young Correction Facility in lieu of $25,000 cash bond.
