TEXT SIZE

9:28 a.m., April 12, 2013--The University of Delaware will host a one-day symposium on membrane protein on Monday, April 29.

The Delaware Membrane Protein Symposium will bring together people from a diverse range of interests and techniques who share an interest in exploring the functions of membranes and their components.

Research Stories

Waning numbers

A UD research team has been studying the Atlantic brant goose and its nesting sites in the Arctic.

Sea level and pollution

A UD team is working with Wilmington's Southbridge community to gather data and raise awareness about sea level rise.

In addition to invited lectures by renowned experts in membrane biophysics and biology, the symposium will include poster presentations by students and postdocs. For the detailed program or information regarding travel and accommodations, visit the symposium website.

The organizers – Sharon Rozovsky, assistant professor of chemistry and biochemistry, and Ed Lyman, assistant professor of physics and astronomy – said they expect about 100 participants for the day of lectures and discussions. This annual conference is supported by National Institutes of Health-COBRE program on membrane protein production and characterization led by Abraham Lenhoff, UD’s Allan P. Colburn Professor of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering.

Registration is free but those who plan to attend are asked to fill out a registration form so organizers can plan accordingly.
