Marshals needed for Commencement May 25

2:47 p.m., April 29, 2013--UD faculty and staff are needed to serve as University marshals at the 164th Commencement ceremony honoring the Class of 2013 on Saturday, May 25, in Delaware Stadium. 

University marshals assist with greeting and seating guests, handicapped and elderly seating, program distribution and student line-up, and they also may need to assist with ushering in the box seat area. Marshals need to arrive at Delaware Stadium before the gates open at 7 a.m. and in most cases are free to go once the ceremony begins at 9 a.m.

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

Those volunteering as marshals will be required to attend a meeting at Delaware Stadium before Commencement.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the achievements of our graduates and help make it a memorable occasion for all," said Jeff Garland, vice president and University secretary.
