Seasonal change

University Facilities begins change from heating to cooling

TEXT SIZE

10:37 a.m., April 15, 2013--As occurs every spring and fall, University of Delaware Facilities is in the process of preparing for the changing seasons, in this case from heating to cooling.

This year’s changeover will begin Monday, April 15, and will take approximately one week.

FYI Stories

Flu prevention

Two clinics on the UD campus, the Nurse Managed Health Center for faculty and staff and their family members and Student Health Services for students, provide convenient locations to get flu shots.

IHRC grants

The Interdisciplinary Humanities Research Center in the University of Delaware's College of Arts and Sciences is offering three categories of grant support this year.

This major operational change is resource intensive and has significant impacts on equipment, so it is only done once per season.

Unfortunately, this means that in some buildings, space temperatures will be warmer than usual until the changeover is complete.

Facilities will continue to monitor nighttime low temperatures and extended weather forecasts to ensure that adequate heating is available as needed. Long-range forecasts will determine when the final changeover is made.

Continue to report maintenance problems to Facilities at 831-1141 or through the online Fixit form
