Blood Bank of Delmarva announces campus blood drive at Trabant


9:20 a.m., April 16, 2013--The Blood Bank of Delmarva will hold a campus blood drive from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday, April 25, in the Multipurpose Rooms of the Trabant University Center on the University of Delaware campus in Newark.

The event is sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministries, Sigma Phi Epsilon and the UD Emergency Care Unit.

Sharon Fitzgerald of University Museums at the University of Delaware will present a curator's talk on the Mineralogical Museum exhibition featuring specimens from the Irenee du Pont collection from 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 14.

To donate blood, participants must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health.

Donors are asked to eat a good meal within three hours of donating blood, and to drink plenty of water.
