Sept. 20: Multimedia file formats
Library offers 'Understanding Multimedia File Formats' workshop
1:25 p.m., Sept. 2, 2011--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop on Tuesday, Sept. 20, entitled “Understanding Multimedia File Formats.”
The workshop will help participants to make informed choices when creating and managing multimedia files. Participants will learn the difference between a JPEG and GIF; when it would be better to save an audio recording as a WAV or MP3; and how to differentiate between a variety of audio (e.g., MP3, WAV, etc.), graphic (JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.) and text formats (PDF, etc.). Upon completion of this hands-on workshop, a participant will be able to make informed choices.

The workshop will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon, Tuesday, Sept. 20, in the Student Multimedia Design Center, Room B, Morris Library, Lower Level. Presenter will be Hannah Lee, affiliate assistant librarian in the center.
The workshop is available at no charge and is open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required. To register online go to this website.
