University Library offers fall workshops on RefWorks

10:29 a.m., Sept. 9, 2011--The University of Delaware Library will present four workshops on RefWorks during the 2011 fall semester.

RefWorks is a web-based citation management tool provided by the University of Delaware Library to import and organize citations and generate bibliographies or reference lists. RefWorks is available from the library databases webpage.

June 6: UDid It! Picnic

All UD faculty and staff members are invited to attend the annual UDid It! employee appreciation picnic, set from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m., Monday, June 6, on The Green.

2FA protects you

If you are using two-factor authentication (2FA), even if a hacker has your password, your information is probably safe.

Two levels of workshops are offered: “Introduction to RefWorks” and “RefWorks: Beyond the Basics.”

The introductory workshop covers setting up a free RefWorks account, exporting citations from research databases, managing citations, creating bibliographies and more.

“RefWorks: Beyond the Basics” provides additional information about exporting references from research databases and organizing references; it also includes using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations as well as editing in-text citations.

Thursday, Sept. 29, 9:30-11 a.m., Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be Dianna McKellar, associate librarian, Reference Department.

Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2-3:30 p.m., Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be William Simpson, associate librarian, Reference Department.

RefWorks: Beyond the Basics will be offered:

Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2-3:30 p.m., Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be William Simpson, associate librarian, Reference Department.

Tuesday, Nov. 15, 11-12:15 p.m., Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be Rebecca Knight, associate librarian, Reference Department.

The workshops are available at no charge and are open to University of Delaware faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required, and can be completed online.
