Oct. 18: Patents workshop
University Library offers 'Getting Started with Patents' workshop
8:56 a.m., Sept. 28, 2011--The University of Delaware Library will present a workshop entitled “Getting Started with Patents” from 10-11:30 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 18.
The workshop will meet in the Library Instruction Room (116A) on the first floor of the Morris Library. It will be led by Thomas Melvin, librarian, Reference Department.

Patents contain a wealth of valuable information that is not available from any other resource. Patents are also a leading indicator of new technologies and provide valuable information for researchers as well as inventors.
The workshop is intended for those who would like to learn what patents are and how to locate patents that are relevant to their work or personal interests. Topics covered will include the basics of patent searching, what information is included in a patent, and the best websites for retrieving patent information.
This workshop is available at no charge and is open to UD faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and registration is required, and can be completed online.
