United Way goal surpassed
UD comes through again for United Way, raising $192,000
9:51 a.m., Nov. 28, 2011--The University of Delaware has come through once again in the 2011 United Way Campaign. The UD community not only met but surpassed its $185,000 goal.
As of Nov. 23, UD faculty and staff had contributed more than $192,000 to the campaign.

"Even in these tough times, I’m amazed at what we can accomplish when we work together as a team," said UD President Patrick Harker. "I cannot thank my colleagues enough for their generosity during this campaign. They saw the need and answered the call to help."
Over the last 14 years, members of the UD community have contributed more than $2.7 million to the United Way.
Tom Apple, UD provost and campaign co-chair, said, "It's really great to help lead the University's United Way Campaign. Year after year, we show the community that UD gives back."
"I would like to give a special thanks to Kimberly DeShields, our UD campaign organizer and the United Way champions," said Jennifer (J.J.) Davis, UD vice president for finance and administration and campaign co-chair. "Throughout the campaign, Kim and her team kept us organized with our eye on the target, allowing us to surpass our $185,000 goal."
