University launches new online events calendar
12:47 p.m., Nov. 3, 2011--The University of Delaware has launched a new online events calendar, called @UD.
Joining other institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, Goucher College and Cornell University, this new calendar system will be driven by Localist, which brings smooth integration with social media, including Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare.

The new calendar features a bright new look and links to other key campus websites, including Student Life and the UDaily news service.
While the calendar is publicly available, users with a UDelNetID also have the ability to create profiles through the system to add events to their personal calendars, set reminders or even 'watch' events that they may be interested in attending.
Event submission
Events from the former events calendar have been pulled into the Localist software and are being integrated into various calendars and sub-calendars.
To ease implementation for those who want and need to submit events, UD's Office of Communication and Marketing has created a short video to explain the online process and maximize exposure on the new calendar by selecting multiple calendars, uploading event posters and photos and utilizing drop down menus to pre-populate fields such as location and date.

Administrator training
UD will also be bringing a system expert from Localist to campus on Wednesday, Nov. 16, for a one-time, one-hour training session for those who need access to manage a calendar. If you currently administer a UD calendar or were administering one through the previous system, sign up through LearnIT for this customized training.
