UD Idea Pitch Competition has just a few spots left

The Entrepreneurial Studies Program will be hosting the UD Idea Pitch Competition from 12:30-2:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 4, at the Venture Development Center, located at 196 South College Ave.

June 5: Blue Hen 5K

University of Delaware graduates planning to attend Alumni Weekend are encouraged to register for the annual Blue Hen 5K walk and run, which will be held Sunday morning, June 5.

June 6-9: Food and culture series

The 20th annual June Lecture Series at the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at UD in Wilmington will be held June 6-9. Titled 'June a la Carte,' this year's program focuses on great political documents, feminism, world politics and a Newark cuisine sampler.

UD Idea Pitch is as simple as 3-2-1. Presenters will get three minutes to pitch an idea for a new product or business. The judging panel, which consists of community experts, is allowed to ask two questions about the pitch. The one winning pitch will receive $1,500 to develop the idea into an actual business as well as automatic admission to the Venture Development Center as a student licensee.

Compete as an individual or as part of a team. All undergraduates and graduate students who are enrolled at least half time at the University of Delaware are eligible to participate in the UD Idea Pitch Competition. All teams that include at least one such student are eligible to participate.

The UD Idea Pitch Competition is limited to 15 presenters/teams, and time slots are filling up quickly. To reserve a spot in the competition, presenters/teams must send their name(s) and a brief description of their idea to e-studies@udel.edu. Only the first 15 presenters/teams to do so will be assigned to a specific time slot.
