UD Police seek assistance identify suspects in vending machine thefts
2:43 p.m., May 29, 2012--UD Police seek the community's assistance in identifying two men in connection with thefts from vending machines on Thursday, May 24, at the Bob Carpenter Center on South College Avenue.
The men gained access to the vending machine cash boxes by prying open the doors with an unknown tool.
They are shown on surveillance video leaving the building and driving away from the area in a gray or silver, newer model Chevrolet sedan, possibly an Impala or Malibu, with unknown registration.
A short time later, the men returned to the building, with one of them having changing his shirt from a red one to a white one, and immediately returned to the vending area. They then left the building and drove away in the previously described car, going south on Route 896 toward Route 4.
The incident matches a series of others that have occurred over the past two months in various UD academic and athletics buildings.
