UD Police seek assistance in identifying suspect in bike theft
1:48 p.m., June 18, 2012--University of Delaware Police are seeking the public's assistance in locating a man who is a suspect in the theft of bicycles from the campus on Thursday, June 14.
Around 8 p.m., a UD student reported that his bicycle was taken from a rack in front of the Carpenter Sports Building while he was inside. The stolen bike is a black and white men's GT-840 mountain bike.

UD Police checked surveillance video cameras, which showed a man riding to the area on a purple girl's bike, leaving it, removing the victim's bike and riding it eastbound on Main Street. Around 10 minutes later, the same man is observed on camera returning to the area and removing another bike, again going east on Main Street, past Chapel Street and eventually out of camera view.
The suspect is described as 25-30 years old, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing about 175-190 pounds and wearing a long gray T-shirt, blue denim shorts, low-cut white sneakers and a worn gray hat with sunglasses on the top. He was carrying and black, white and red checkered backpack.
