Newark Police investigate Saturday morning robbery on Main Street

9:44 a.m., June 19, 2012--Newark Police are investigating an armed robbery at SAS Cupcakes on East Main Street that occurred around 9:45 a.m., Saturday, June 16.

An employee had just opened the store when a man entered, displayed a large knife and demanded cash.  After receiving an undisclosed amount of cash, the suspect took the employee's cell phone and fled out of the front door in an unknown direction.  The employee was not injured.

The suspect is described as having a large, muscular build and a buzz haircut, with tattoos on his arms and neck. He was wearing a black and red shirt, dark pants and black sunglasses.
