Changes to Google Apps for Education: How will they affect UDel.edu?
10:40 a.m., July 20, 2011--Over the July 23-24 weekend, University of Delaware Information Technologies (IT) will implement some administrative changes to Google Apps @UDel.edu as required by Google.
Most Google Apps @UDel.edu users will not notice any difference when they use Mail, Docs, Sites, Talk, or Calendar within Google Apps @UDel.edu. Users may, however, be asked to approve new terms and conditions.

After IT has made the required changes, everyone using Google Apps @UDel.edu will receive automated email from google.com with the subject line “Your Google Apps account now works more like a full Google Account.” (Sample Message)
If you have used your udel.edu address to set up accounts at Google sites outside of Google Apps @UDel.edu (e.g., Picasa, YouTube, Blogger), the next time you try to access that Google service, you will see a screen telling you that you need to use a Google account to log in. If that screen includes a button labeled “Link these accounts,” do not click that button.
After IT makes this administrative change, you will not be able to use your udel.edu email address with Picasa, YouTube, or other Google services not included in Google Apps @UDel.edu. Instead, useor create and usea free Gmail account at google.com.
If you do accidentally link your udel.edu account to a Google application not included in Google Apps @UDel.edu, submit a Help Request to the IT Support Center indicating that you need to unlink your UDel.edu and Google accounts.
