3 p.m., Jan. 17, 2012--The University of Delaware’s Division of Professional and Continuing Studies announces that 85 students earned professional development certificates through programs offered in fall 2011. Students commuted from as far away as New York, New Jersey, Maryland, Pennsylvania and Sussex County, Del., to participate in the programs.
UD’s professional development certificate programs include popular and growing fields such as project management, clinical trials management and business analysis.
Delaware's unique Healthcare Theatre Program provides a blueprint for cross-disciplinary teamwork in higher education.
UD's Michela Taufer collaborated with a colleague at the IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center to provide her students with industry-relevant operating systems projects.
Also, by completing UD’s Project Management or Business Analyst certificate programs, students were able to meet official education requirements to pursue professional designations in those fields.
Spring professional development certificates begin in February. Those interested are invited to attend an information session on Thursday, Jan. 19, at 6 p.m., at the Doubletree Hotel in Wilmington.
Certificate programs discussed at the information session will be: Advanced Project Management, Business Analyst, Clinical Trials Management, Health Care Risk Management and Patient Safety, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Paralegal, Project Management and Strategic Human Resource Management.
For more information, call 302-831-7600 or visit the division's certificate program information website.
