White House hosts American Commonwealth Partnership launch
3:30 p.m., Jan. 10, 2012--The White House is hosting an event to launch the American Commonwealth Partnership, a yearlong initiative to promote higher education as an agent of democracy and a force for public good, on Tuesday, Jan. 10.
The ACP coincides with the 150th anniversary of the Morrill Act, which established Land Grant colleges and universities throughout the U.S. to promote access to higher education across social classes and equip students with the relevant skills and knowledge to address the important needs of the day.

The University of Delaware is a Land Grant, Sea Grant and Space Grant institution.
The event is being streamed live on the Internet until 6 p.m. Tuesday.
