“Staying safe online requires more than just installing anti-virus software,” said Beth Miller, IT-Client Support and Services. “You must also understand what it takes to avoid the threats you see while reading your email or browsing the web.”
Even though University departments and offices may have technical staff to provide computer setup and assistance, all employees are responsible for taking care of the computers they use and making sure the information on those computers is safe. Following security guidelines is an important part of the good business practices all UD employees should follow.
Friday’s webcast will be archived at the LearnIT@UD website, where members of the campus community can also sign up for full-length training classes, such as “PC Desktop Best Practices,” a session that explores safe computing practices in more detail.
