“The most frequently requested enhancement since UDataGlance went live in 2010 was the ability to view balances for previous accounting periods and fiscal years,” said Evelyn Zerenner, UD assistant vice president for finance. “Now you can.”
Upon logging in to UDataGlance, users see balances for the current accounting period. “You can use the new ‘Change Accounting Period’ button to view data from a previous accounting period,” she added.
The new option provides the ability to drill down to summary purpose or project information for any accounting period. In addition, users can drill down to Internal Request For Service web forms.
“We believe these enhancements will be welcomed by the University community and will increase the efficiencies of using UDataGlance,” Zerenner said.
UDataGlance, UD’s financial reporting system, was launched in September 2010 to provide access for viewing financial data to all types of University employees who have financial responsibilities -- administrative staff, faculty/principal investigators, department chairs, vice presidents and deans.
The UDataGlance team includes representatives from Finance, Controller’s Office, Research Office, Budget Office and Human Resources. The team meets regularly to discuss users’ reporting needs and to develop enhancements to meet those needs.
You may use the feedback form available within UDataGlance to make suggestions for other improvements to the system, to report problems, or to ask questions about UDataGlance.
