April 11: 'We Are Trayvon Martin'
UD student organizations plan walk and rally for justice, peace, equality
3:34 p.m., April 5, 2012--“We Are Trayvon Martin: UD Walk and Rally for Justice, Peace and Equality” will be held by University of Delaware student organizations on Wednesday evening, April 11.
The event is being held to raise awareness and to rally for justice in memory of Trayvon Martin, his bereaved family and the countless victims of social and racial injustice.

Organizers said they hope the rally, which is open to the public, will enlighten communities and motivate people to take unified action.
The event will be held 6-9 p.m. on the UD campus. Walk participants should meet at 6 p.m. at the Center for Black Culture, 192 South College Avenue.
The rally will immediately follow the walk at 7 p.m. on the North Green.
Participants are encouraged to wear hoodies and to bring hand-made signs and candles. The rally will include speak-outs and motivational words from campus and community leaders, poetry and song, and a candlelight vigil. Voter registration will be available during the rally.
