In addition, there will be a prize for the runner displaying the most UD spirit and team prizes.

The race also pits UD's various academic and administrative units against one another in a bid for the rights to the President's Cup, which is based on participation and the top finishers of that group. New this year is that other departments beyond the colleges are encouraged to participate in the President’s Cup. If your department is interested in participating in the race for the cup, contact Tricia Fitzgerald Reilly, Class of 2004, at 302-831-2341 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Past winners of the President's Cup include the College of Education and Human Development (formerly the College of Education and Public Policy) and the College of Health Sciences, which has won the past two years.
Before the 5K Run/Walk, there will be a 1K Kids Fun Run that will take place around The Green.
The Blue Hen 5K is sponsored by the Greater Wilmington Convention and Visitors Bureau, the UD Bookstore, Deer Park Tavern, Pepsi and NKS.
The event, which is open to the public, is organized by Races2Run.com. The event schedule, registration instructions and a course map are available at www.UDconnection.com/BlueHen5K.
Held the first weekend after Commencement each year, Alumni Weekend is a tradition that is growing in popularity and in size. More than 3,200 Blue Hens and friends attended in 2011, participating in activities such as Mug Night, the Blue Hen 5K, President Patrick Harker's State of the University address and the Alumni Wall of Fame Ceremony.
