Elson was critical of the report, telling the newspaper, "I am a significant critic of CEO pay, but I've never believed there is a linkage between layoffs and CEO pay." Elson also was quoted in an Aug. 30 Financial Times article about executive compensation and the Dodd-Frank Act.

Sharon Merriman-Nai, project director with the National Center on Elder Abuse based at UD's Center for Community Research and Service, was featured in an Aug. 27 MSNBC Red Tape Chronicles article discussing the allegations of financial exploitation involving heiress Huguette Clark and the threat of elder financial abuse. “The problem is probably going to get worse before it gets better, the way the population is aging,” she said. “But one hope we have is that the Baby Boomers are a generation of activists, and they will not go quietly. If we have an opportunity to put this issue on the map, it's now. The resources this generation can bring to resolve these problems can have quite an impact.” On Aug. 19, she was quoted discussing various aspects of elder financial abuse in an article for the Spanish language publication, Mercado de Dinero USA, and appeared as a guest on the Coach Lynn Motivational Radio Show featuring seniors' issues on the same date.
