RefWorks is used to create and manage references, export references from databases and generate bibliographies or reference lists, and it is available from the library databases web page.

The workshops will be “Transition to RefWorks 2.0,” “Citing Using APA Style and RefWorks,” “Introduction to RefWorks” and “RefWorks: Beyond the Basics.”

Transition to RefWorks 2.0 offers the next-generation of the RefWorks research management system. RefWorks 2.0 has a new user interface which is easier to navigate and more visually appealing.

The workshop offers RefWorks users an overview of the arrangement and features of RefWorks 2.0 and is intended for those who are already familiar with RefWorks and is not intended for new users.

It will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 22, in the Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be Rebecca Knight, associate librarian in the Reference Department.

Introduction to RefWorks covers setting up an account, managing references, exporting references from research databases and creating bibliographies and other basic features.

The first workshop will meet from 10-11:30 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 30, in the Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenters will be Thomas Melvin, librarian, and Dianna McKellar, associate librarian, both in the Reference Department.

The second will meet from 10-11:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 20, also in the Library Instruction Room. Presenter will be Michael Gutierrez, associate librarian in the Reference Department.

Citing Using APA Style and RefWorks covers documenting research using the APA citation style (The Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association, 6th ed., 2010).

The workshop also covers using the RefWorks 2.0 web-based research management system to create Reference lists and insert in-text citations in APA style.

The workshop will be held from 12:30-2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be Rebecca Knight, associate librarian in the Reference Department

RefWorks: Beyond the Basics covers exporting references from research databases, organizing references, using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations, edit in-text citations and create bibliographies or reference lists.

The new RefWorks 2.0 user interface will be introduced to users.

The workshop will be held from 2-3:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 26, in the Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be William Simpson, associate librarian in the Reference Department.

These workshops are available at no charge and are open to the University of Delaware students, faculty and staff. Seating is limited and registration is required. Students, faculty and staff may register online.
