Presentations

Hilton Brown, Harriet T. Baily Professor of Art, Art History and Women's Studies, presented lectures and gallery study tours at the National Gallery of Art, Washington, D.C., on July 12 and July 26. His presentations were a part of the 2010 National Gallery Teacher Institute titled "Crosscurrents of American Art, 18th through the 19th centuries." Brown's lecture was titled "The Materials, Tools and Techniques of West, Copley, Stuart, Homer, Eakins and Sargent." His gallery study tour centered around these American artists as well as a selected group of influential French and English painters.

Exhibitions

New works by Virginia Bradley, professor of art, are part of an exhibition at the Abington Art Center in Jenkintown, Pa., from Sept. 11 to Nov. 28. An opening reception, which is free and open to the public, will be held from 3-5 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 12.
