8:48 a.m., Oct. 13, 2010----The 2010-2011 Master Players Concert Series season opening gala -- titled “Newark! Newark!” -- will showcase renowned University of Delaware faculty artists at 8 p.m., Friday, Oct. 15, in Mitchell Hall on the UD campus in Newark.
The special concert, held as part of Parents and Family Weekend, will feature performances of masterpieces of chamber music and showpieces.
For more than 20 years, top musicians living in the area because of their connections to the University of Delaware have presented an unforgettable Master Players season opener to the delight of Delawareans. The concert also introduces newly arrived UD faculty artists to the community.
Featured artists are: Christine Delbeau, piano; Philip Duker, percussion; Marianne Gythfeldt, clarinet; Julie Nishimura, piano; Harvey Price, percussion; Marie Robinson, soprano; Lloyd Shorter, oboe; Lawrence Stomberg, cello; Anne Sullivan, harp; Christiaan Taggart, guitar; and Bruce Tychinski, trombone.
Tickets are $25 for adults, $20 for senior adults, staff and alumni, and $10 for students.

Advance sale tickets may also be purchased at the Roselle Center for the Arts Monday through Friday, from noon-5 p.m.
