8:25 a.m., Nov. 17, 2010----The Humanitarian Hospitality Society and LEAD Council at the University of Delaware are co-sponsoring a Lend a Shirt clothing drive and the campus community is encouraged to donate any old clothes without stains or holes -- jeans, pants, shirts, sweatshirts, skirts, etc.
The organizations will donate the clothing to children and their communities in the Dominican Republic and South Africa. Any excess items will be given to local people in need.
A kickoff party for the event will be held from noon to 3 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Gallery. There will be additional information about the project, snacks and a drop off area for clothing.
Clothing drop off also will be held:
Noon to 3 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 30, in Multipurpose Room C of the Trabant University Center, and
Noon to 3 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, Dec. 1 and 2, in Multipurpose Room A of the Trabant University Center.
