8:36 a.m., March 16, 2011----The University of Delaware men's lacrosse team will host a “Pink Out' cancer awareness game on Saturday, March 26, when the Blue Hens face Towson University in a Colonial Athletic Association contest at 1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
One of the UD seniors, Noah Fossner, designed a special T-shirt to help raise awareness for this cause, which has touched so many people directly. All proceeds from the sale of these shirts will be donated to the American Cancer Society.
Blue Hens fans are encouraged to support the cause by purchasing this one of a kind T-shirt. T-shirts are on sale now for $20 and the order form can be downloaded in PDF format. All forms can sent or delivered to Liz Hayes, UD athletics marketing, via email at [firstname.lastname@example.org] or fax at 302-831-8653.
Orders must be received no later than 3 p.m., Friday, March 18. T-shirts will be available for pick-up at the Bob Carpenter Center, Room 114, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, March 25, and on game day from noon-1 p.m. at Delaware Stadium.
The T-shirt features an awareness ribbon with the following colors with corresponding causes: pink for breast cancer, powder blue for prostate cancer, royal blue for colon cancer, lime green for lymphoma, orange for leukemia, gold for childhood cancer, pearl for lung cancer, lavender for general cancer, purple for pancreatic cancer and teal for ovarian cancer.
