Newark Police investigate home invasion robbery

1:30 p.m., March 18, 2011----Newark Police are investigating a home invasion style robbery that occurred at a residence in the 100 block of Victoria Court, Newark, at approximately 9:21 p.m., Thursday, March 17.

Police report that three men, all armed with handguns, entered the residence through an unlocked door. Once inside they confronted two victims in a first floor family room, and then two of the suspects went to a second floor bedroom where they confronted a third victim. The suspects left the residence after removing cell phones, wallets and personal computers. None of the three victims was injured in the incident.

After the robbery, one of the victims got into his vehicle and attempted to follow the suspects who were seen leaving in a gold Dodge Stratus with Pennsylvania tags, driven by a woman. As the victim followed the car, the suspects jumped from the vehicle and fled on foot, leaving the driver in the car. The victim stopped following the car at that time.

The three male suspects are all described as 18 to 22 years old. One was wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt; one was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt; and the third was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt with a light-colored bandana covering his face. The female suspect is described as 18 to 22 years old, with blond hair.
