9:15 a.m., March 25, 2011----University of Delaware alumni are invited to a wide range of events, including benefits, happy hours and cultural activities sponsored by local alumni clubs.
Events are as follows:
The Lancaster Alumni Club will hold a happy hour at 6 p.m., Wednesday, March 30, at the Iron Hill Brewery, 781 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster, Pa. For details or to register, see the Lancaster Alumni Club website.
The New York City Alumni Club will hold a happy hour from 6 p.m. to midnight, Thursday, March 31, at Johnny Utah's, 25 W. 51st St., in New York City. For details or to register, see the New York City Alumni Club website.
A Blue Hens in Reading happy hour will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 7, at the Third and Spruce Café, 238 S. 3rd Ave., in Reading, Pa. The café is owned by UD alumnus John Woodward, a 1974 graduate. For details or to register, see the Blue Hens in Reading website.
The Washington, D.C., Alumni Club will hold a spring sports happy hour at 6 p.m., Thursday, April 7, at the Madhatter, 1319 Connecticut Ave., NW. Athletes and enthusiastic spectators are invited for both softball and soccer. For details or to register, see the D.C. Alumni Club website.
Also, the D.C. Alumni Club will sponsor UD Alumni Night at the Corcoran Gallery at 7 p.m., Thursday, April 21. Cost, which includes a tour and reception, is $22 per person. To register, see the club's website.
The Baltimore Alumni Club will participate in the National MS Society Walk on Sunday, April 10, at Towson University. For details, see the Baltimore Alumni Club website.
Also, the Baltimore Alumni Club will hold happy hour from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, April 14, at the Field House, Canton, 2400 Boston St.
The New Castle County Alumni Club will participate in the Ronald McDonald House 5K on Saturday morning, April 23, beginning at the Big Fish Grill on the Wilmington riverfront. Registration is $20 before April 20 and $25 after that date. UD alumni participants are encourage to wear Blue Hens blue and gold.
