The forum is free and open to any members of the public interested in learning more about the 2-megawatt wind turbine. It will take place in Room 104 of Cannon Lab at the Lewes campus.

The session will be moderated by Nancy Targett, dean of UD's College of Earth, Ocean, and Environment (CEOE); CEOE wind energy expert Jeremy Firestone; and David Strong, senior project manager for Sustainable Energy Developments, Inc. (SED).

CEOE dean since 2005, Targett helped spearhead the development of the turbine, which is providing research opportunities in addition to supplying energy for UD's Lewes campus and the city of Lewes.

Firestone, associate professor of marine policy, also is a researcher with UD's Center for Carbon-free Power Integration whose work helped inspire the turbine.

Strong helped manage the turbine project for Ontario, N.Y.-based community wind company SED.
