8:30 a.m., Jan. 14, 2011----The University of Delaware Office of Campus and Public Safety is offering Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) self-defense classes for UD-affiliated women during the spring semester.
The five-session, 15-hour Basic RAD course is free and classes will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Mondays, Feb. 21 through March 21; on Tuesdays, April 5 through May 3; and Wednesdays, Feb. 23 through March 23. The location is to be determined.
An Advanced RAD class will meet from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m., Mondays, April 4 through May 2.

RAD is taught by certified instructors and is endorsed by the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators. The course is physically and mentally challenging, however, it is also taught in a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Sessions will cover awareness and self-defense techniques, and will include simulations.
