7:49 a.m., Feb. 15, 2011----The University of Delaware has unveiled a virtual tour of the campus for prospective students and their families, and for anyone else who might be interested in learning more about UD.
The Office of Communications and Marketing worked with RealView TV to produce the enhanced virtual tour, with the project funded by a grant from the Unidel Foundation.
“The tour enhances the experience of visitors to the UD website, enabling individuals who may not be able to capture the essence of our campus through an actual, in-person tour,” said Jeff Chase, senior art director and lead on this project. This virtual tour is focused on providing high school students, potential graduate students and others a front-row seat to the exciting opportunities available at UD every day.
The structure of the virtual tour was based on UD's “Dare to be first” brand platform, in which each college, center, institute, department, program and faculty and staff member has a unique role to play in the overall brand story and in moving the University to even greater prominence.
The virtual tour comprises 26 videos as well as an interactive map with building models and information. Multiple pages throughout the UD website will link to the tour.
