12:15 p.m., Feb. 18, 2011----The University of Delaware Library will present workshops on RefWorks, a web-based citation management tool provided by the University of Delaware Library, in March.
RefWorks is used to import and organize citations and generate bibliographies or reference lists. RefWorks is available from the library databases webpage.
All University of Delaware students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in the workshops.
Three levels of workshops are offered: “Introduction to RefWorks,” “RefWorks: Complete” and “RefWorks: Beyond the Basics.”
The introductory workshop covers setting up an account, exporting citations from research databases, managing citations, creating bibliographies and more. “RefWorks: Beyond the Basics” provides additional information about exporting references from research databases and organizing references; it also includes using the Write-N-Cite feature to insert in-text citations, editing in-text citations and creating bibliographies or reference lists. “RefWorks: Complete” provides an overview of both introductory as well as more advanced functions.
Introduction to RefWorks will be offered Thursday, March 10, from 10-11:30 a.m., in the Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor. Presenter will be Dianna McKellar, associate librarian, Reference Department.
RefWorks: Complete will be offered Tuesday, March 15, from 10-11:30 a.m., also in the Library Instruction Room. Presenter will be Michael Gutiérrez, associate librarian, Reference Department.
RefWorks: Beyond the Basics will be offered Wednesday, March 16, from 10-11:30 a.m., in the Library Instruction Room. Presenter will be Rebecca Knight, associate librarian, Reference Department.
These workshops are available at no charge and are open to UD students, faculty and staff. Seating is limited and registration is required, and can be completed online.
